Richard Knowles, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist (Psy 29060)
I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and am a licensed psychologist (PSY 29060) trained at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, now known as Sofia University.
I also hold a Master’s degree in transpersonal psychology, and B.A.s in psychology, philosophy, and anthropology.
I’ve worked with acute/crisis-based problems as well as long-term problems that require extensive talk-therapy.
I have clinical training in psychopathology assessment and diagnosis, psychometric assessment, hypnotherapy, biofeedback, and transpersonal psychology (focusing on existential/humanistic and spiritual concerns with a holistic view of treatment).
I also work with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in their MDMA-assisted PTSD treatment program.
I’ve worked across a wide spectrum of settings and clients, from locked psychiatric wards, to residential programs, to therapy clinics working with high-functioning clients.
I have also served as associate core faculty at my alma mater, Sofia University.
